Service Description

Semaglutide is a medication used for the treatment of type 2 diabetes and obesity. It belongs to a class of drugs called glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists (GLP-1 agonists). Semaglutide works by mimicking the effects of the natural hormone GLP-1, which helps regulate blood sugar levels and promotes weight loss. In the context of diabetes, semaglutide can improve blood sugar control by stimulating insulin secretion, slowing down digestion, reducing appetite, and promoting a feeling of fullness. It is typically administered as a once-weekly injection. For obesity, semaglutide is prescribed at a higher dose than for diabetes treatment. It helps with weight loss by reducing hunger and increasing feelings of satiety. When combined with lifestyle modifications, such as a healthy diet and regular exercise, semaglutide can be an effective option for managing obesity.

Cancellation Policy

At Atlanta Psych and Wellness Center, we are committed to providing compassionate care and maintaining clear, fair policies around payments, cancellations, and refunds. Please review our updated refund policy below: Refund Policy 1. Appointment Prepayments Some services, including new patient evaluations, may require full payment in advance to confirm your appointment. These payments will be applied toward your scheduled session balance. 2. Cancellations & No-Shows We require at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule any appointment. Appointments canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice or no-shows will be charged 50% of the scheduled visit cost. This fee applies to all visit types, including initial evaluations, follow-ups, and consultations. Missed appointments due to avoidable technical issues (e.g., late login, unprepared platform) are also subject to the 50% fee. 3. Refunds for Services Rendered Payments for services already completed are non-refundable. If you have any concerns about a visit, please reach out so we can work to address the matter directly. 4. Third-Party Processing Fees All credit/debit card payments are processed by a third-party provider and may include processing fees. If a refund is approved, these processing fees are non-refundable, as they are not retained by Atlanta Psych and Wellness Center. A no-show is defined as missing your scheduled appointment without any prior notice. Why We Charge Cancellation Fees Your appointment time is reserved exclusively for you. When cancellations or no-shows occur without adequate notice, it prevents us from offering that time to another client in need of care. The fee helps offset lost time and resources and ensures that we can continue providing quality, timely services to all clients. These charges are not covered by insurance and must be paid prior to scheduling future appointments. We understand that emergencies happen. If there are extenuating circumstances, please contact us as soon as possible, we review each case individually. Repeated late cancellations or missed appointments may result in discharge from the practice. 5. Refund Request Process To request a refund under qualifying circumstances, please email: atlantapsychllc@gmail.com Include: Full name Date of payment/service Reason for request We will review your request within 5 business days. If approved, the refund will be issued to the original payment method, minus any applicable processing fees.
